  • March – May (during season): Seasonal and match-day roles are active. Some analytics and medical roles are backfilled if incumbents depart.

How to Stand Out as an Applicant for IPL Roles

  • Build a public track record. IPL franchises search LinkedIn, Sportzjobs, and social media for candidates. A Ranji Trophy analyst who publishes match breakdowns is more visible than an equally skilled analyst who does not.
  • Work in the state system first. The most common entry path for all technical roles (coaching, physio, analyst) is state team → IPL franchise. The state cricket association network is how franchise scouts find candidates.
  • NCA Bangalore is the gateway. Participating in any BCCI/NCA programme as support staff or intern significantly increases your visibility to franchise decision-makers.
  • Apply via the right channel. Most franchise operational and marketing roles are posted on Sportzjobs, LinkedIn, and franchise careers pages. Direct applications via these channels are how most non-playing staff get hired.

Which IPL Franchises Are the Biggest Employers?

By year-round full-time headcount, the largest employers are: Mumbai Indians (Reliance Sports ecosystem), Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Kolkata Knight Riders. These four franchises operate the largest academy infrastructure and have the most diverse job categories. Newer franchises (Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans) are rapidly scaling up and often have more entry-level openings with less competition.
